An Overview of the Russian Parliamentary "Elections"

My latest installment on our Pajamas Media mother blog reviews the horrifying litany of actions taken by Russian "president" Vladimir Putin to create a one-party state in Russia similar to China. Check it out, and feel free to leave your comments as to how the West can best deal with this unprecedented outrage. Stay tuned for more reporting on the election results, coming Monday. And, if you are so inclined, say a little prayer for the people of Russia. They need all the help they can get.

Hon. Toomas Hendrik Ilves, Estonia's Swedish-born U.S.-educated president who is the most hated politician in the book of the local Russian-speaking occupation trash left over by the big bad bear (he does not speak Russian, btw), has said that the best relations with the eastern neighbor is no relations.
Election in quote marks is a misnomer. I think Dr. Illarionov who today is perhaps the harshest critic of both the malignant little troll and the real estate he presides over (not a country in his lexicon) calls this farce a special operation. Special ops is the only thing the thugs are capable of, and they think (of you can define this lowest possible level of brain activity as thought) in terms of special ops. So we should treat it the way we treat, say, the Medellin or Cali Cartel, or Al Qaeda, except for being harsher.
Unfortunately the English language does not lend itself to expressing Eugenia Albats' pun выборы без выбора, or "selection without the election" (meaning selection by the capo di tutti capi--another Illarionov comparison).
And for all his shortcomings, Yavlinskiy sais that you can love the regime or hate it, respect it or despise it--but you cannot elect it.

The inimical skimpy midget Putin is taking his country down the path of evil, and Russians are right there with him. At what point do we stop wagging our fingers and start real action to stop the evil? A campaign to boycott Russian oil and the Sochi Olympics would be a good start.

By the way, Democracy Alert everyone. Georgia is now considering opening the "opposition" tv station. Putin's Plan is winning out. If anyone here cares about democracy in Georgia, then they should be worried about this. Call your representative or the White House. Only media with real democratic credentials should be allowed to operate while Georgia is in a state of war with Russia. If the stooge imedia television is allowed to run, we might as well say goodbye to another democracy, and hello to more evil.
