Stunning Breaking News on Russia

Two jaw-dropping developments on the Russian front.

First, the Jamestown Foundation's Vladimir Socor reports that "on January 16 Ukraine's President Viktor Yushchenko, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, and Parliament Chairman Arseny Yatsenyuk made public a joint letter to NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, declaring Ukraine's readiness to advance to a Membership Action Plan (MAP) with NATO and requesting a decision to that end by the Alliance at its Bucharest summit in early April."

Looks like they are acting none too soon since, second, Congressional Quarterly's Jeff Stein reports that a book about to be published alleges that "Tariq Rauf, the top U.N. official responsible for monitoring the clandestine nuclear programs of Iran and Pakistan is a Russian spy" who "hated America."

Yushchenko says:

Rather troublesome that the vast majority of the population in Ukraine rejects NATO membership. Conversely, if democracy can be painted as a mere metaphoric hurdle, trouble should not arise on the eastern front.

La Russophobe says:

Yushchenko:

Rather troubling that you don't give one single shred of data to back up your claim. The recent elections where pro-NATO candidates were elected despite outrageous levels of Russian interference indicate otherwise.

You're probably not aware of it, but almost all Ukrainians fear Russian aggression just the way Russians fear American aggression because Russia treats Ukraine exactly the way it complains about being treated by America. It's classic Russian hypocrisy.

Vova says:

Kim, irrespective of your the previous hare-braned post, the only people who violently and virulently objected to the NATO letter were Simonenko (who made the cut) and Vitrenko (Pavlovskiy's bitch who didn't), and both of them are Russian-speakers

elmer says:

To clarify:

Simonenko, in Ukraine, is part of the Communist party, which has been dramatically losing ground in Ukraine. They got only 5% of the vote in the last parliamentary elections (2007).

Vitrenko, who, along with her bloc, failed to make it into the Ukrainian parliament in the last elections, actively advocates rebuilding the soviet empire. She is universally referred to in Ukraine as a "відьма," or witch.

Russia itself has partnership status with NATO - you can look it up on NATO's web site.

But in typical schizoid rooshan style, roosha screams about other countries joining NATO.

In Georgia, 77% of the electorate just voted in favor of joining NATO.

roosha is screaming about that too.

When it comes to government in roosha, the motto is "BEAT ME BETTER".

Yushchenko says:

I was born in Kiev. I know a great deal more about the great Eastern Slavic country than you ever will.

While it is true that a minor majority of people in Ukraine support pro-NATO leaders, it is rather obvious from many polls that this support is not given on the basis of NATO policies alone. Rather, it has more to do to with other economic and social decisions, and from my own point of view, the lack of any personal charm or brains of the opposition leader. Your logic is flawed, therefore, when you assume the following: what Tymoshenko wants, Ukraine wants.

There are many articles online that give evidence to this, some recent some not. My time is more valuable than your request to provide a myriad of links. Look for yourself. However, even the article mentioned in this thread talks of this:

From: http://en.rian.ru/analysis/20080118/97289307.html

“The Party of Regions also demands holding a referendum on joining NATO. The outcome of such a referendum is easy to predict: according to independent polls, more than 60% of the population opposes joining the bloc.”

Just do a quick google search or check wikipedia’s NATO entry. It doesn’t matter to me where you get the information. All that matters is that you learn. You’re probably not aware of it but most Ukrainians like Russians. The two countries along with Belarus comprise one nation, which used to be called The Kievan Rus. There are few people in Ukraine who hate or fear others based on their place of birth – that would be called bigotry. Russia-Ukraine relations are almost nothing like America-Russia relations. As we have determined before, Russia and Ukraine have ethnic and cultural ties, while Russia and America have economic ties only, so your profoundly blemished comparison is moronic at best.

As for Elmer’s epileptic screaming, well…most of your blather pertains not to the article at hand, but to the article in your head, which I don’t look forward to reading.

elmer says:

Oh, geez, here we go again - a stupid rooskie shows up to say that there is no difference between Ukrainians and rooshans, it's all the same borshcht (борщ).

This, of course, is based on the rooshan chauvinistic view, and is one of about 25 contradictory "explanations" that rooshans put out to try and convince Ukrainians and Belorussians to "stay with their so-called slavic brothers."

Ukraine does indeed have an intertwined history with roosha.

But Ukrainians voted overwhelmingly in favor of INDEPENDENCE from roosha.

As did every other former sovok republic. The satellites did not like being dominated by roosha either.

And this is the 21st century, not the 10th, 11th or 12th centuries of Kyivan Rus.

Ukrainians and rooshans may indeed like each other.

But when it comes to government, you can ask any Georgian, any Estonian, and any Ukrainian (that means true Ukrainians, not the Russian minority that still wants to rebuild the rooshan empire), what they think when it comes to rooshan government.

And they will tell you, plain and simple -

you can't trust the rooshan bear, and they don't like the rooshan bear.

One of my favorite billboards of all time is the one in Ukraine about Georgian wine, after roosha imposed one of its many trade wars against Georgia (and virtually every other country on earth) --

DRINK GEORGIAN WINE - IT'S MORE FREEDOM THAN IS ALLOWED IN ROOSHA

In roosha, the motto of the people when it comes to government is -

BEAT ME BETTER!

Yushchenko says:

Well Elmer, I’m heartbroken to witness your poorly spelled ignorance machine is still huffing and puffing along that xenophobic straight edge. Let’s not use the phrase ‘stupid rooskie’, and let’s not purposely defile a nation. That’s very last century.

As I stated before, I was born in Ukraine (just in case you’re illiterate). I know Ukrainian attitudes fairly well. I never stated any desire to unify the two countries. I have stated however, that these countries are a single nation of Eastern Slavs. You assumed this meant a personal insult to you, and I understand that, because I feel you are mentally incapable of processing any information. However, I stated this fact simply to point out to Kim that Ukrainians do not hate or fear Eastern Slavs living in Russia, the same way that people from Kiev do not hate or fear people from Odessa. Coincidentally, your heritage does not change through time. The cultural and ethnic ties between Russians, Byelorussians, and Ukrainians are much bigger than any of those countries’ ties with any other nation. Once again, for the mentally challenged: this is not a call to restore the Soviet Union.

While it is true that most Ukrainians do not trust Russian politicians, it is also true that most Ukrainians don’t trust Ukrainian politicians. Same goes for Russia, of course. I couldn’t care less about your favorite billboard. Let’s not exchange billboard information on a political website. Now, kindly tone down your hateful comments and proceed with caution.

elmer says:

Single nation of Eastern Slavs?

I'm not "Eastern Slav," and there is no such thing, except in the schizoid minds of stupid rooskies.

I am Ukrainian.

I am not Russian, nor am I Byelorussian.

Ukraine is not roosha, thank God.

Perhaps there is also a single nation of Scandinavians?

Only in the minds of stupid, schizoid rooskies.

That billboard, which is political, is one of the best expressions of attitude that people in general have toward rooshan government.

And Ukraine, at least, has a democracy.

roosha has Vlad Dracul Putin and -- corporatization, which stupid rooskies think amounts to democracy.

In roosha, there is freedom of speech, as long as you don't say anything.

Ask Taras Zelenyak.

In Ukraine, there is freedom of speech.

Yushchenko says:

Elmer, I really wish our public education system reflected better on you. I was educated in Ukraine for some time. All this information was taught profusely – if you slept during classes only to drop out of third grade to pursue a dream of sweeping the floors at a local restaurant, I cannot help you. Ukraine is a country. The Eastern Slavic nation comprises the majority of Ukraine. Surely you know the difference between a nation and a country? Certainly, if you live in Ukraine you are Ukrainian. However, your ethnicity (if you belong to the majority of the population) is Eastern Slavic. You seem to be thick, so allow me to draw another comparison. Although Germany was not unified as a country until 1871 under Otto Von Bismarck, this did not mean that people living in Bavaria differed heavily in ethnicity from people living in Prussia or the Confederation of the Rhine. Consequently, today, Austria is a country populated by Austrians, the majority of whom are Germanic. This is not a call for unification. This is a statement concerning immense cultural and ethnic ties.

Yes, Ukraine as a political entity is not Russia. I’m glad a homeless man somewhere out there taught you geography at least. I am not here to argue whether Eastern Slavs in Ukraine live better or freer than Eastern Slavs in Belarus. I am here to educate you about Eastern Slavic cultural heritage, to illustrate the lack of fear and hate between the people of three Eastern Slavic countries. Once again, I couldn’t care less about your billboard. The fact that you continue to use the phrase ‘stupid, schizoid rooskie” tells me you are a xenophobe. I suggest seeking professional help as such attitudes are never a good thing.

elmer says:

Yushchenko, it will be a long time before a stupid little rooskie like you will patronize me, or be able to teach me anything. You have to know something first.

It's obvious that you wish to make use of some stupid rooskie sleight of hand to argue what - that Ukrainian people are sometimes friendly with rooshans?

That's not the point.

The point is what kind of government exists in Ukraine versus roosha.

The fact that you don't care about "the billboard" speaks volumes about you.

You are very, very obviously roosha-oriented.

True Ukrainians care about freedom.

rooshans care only about misery - their own and that of others.

There are Slavic peoples, yes.

But there is no East Slavic "nation," just like there is no Scandinavian nation.

The "East Slavic nation" exists only in the minds of stupid, schizoid rooskies who wish to rebuild a rooshan empire.

Ukraine has very clearly said "no, thanks" to a rooshan empire.

And there is nobody more xenophobic than roosha.

Ask all the oily orthodox skinheads in roosha, ask the Nashi Putin-Hitler youth group.

It is very apparent that the only information you soaked up was the sovok Alice-in-Wonderland propaganda that the rooskie-sovoks taught during sovok times.

Those days are gone.

There is no freedom in roosha.

But there is freedom in Ukraine.

Period.

Yushchenko says:

Elmer, I am not patronizing you. One cannot patronize someone whose IQ is twenty thousand leagues below his own. You see, you are so like a small child – I must save you from yourself. In this article, Kim stated that membership in NATO is the right course of action to pursue for the Ukrainian government. She justified this with a claim that Ukrainians hate and fear Russians. I interjected saying that Ukrainians do not fear Russians with whom they have very deep ethnic and cultural ties, for that would be the equivalent of fearing oneself. I sited the Kievan Rus as proof of this heritage. There are countless other states that were formed between Eastern Slavs after the Kievan Rus was conquered by the Mongols, but I have no time to give you a history lesson. For you to deny that Eastern Slavic people exist is like denying the existence of the sun. If you insist on locking yourself in a tight, dimly lit subterranean vault, pushing your hands over your ears, and screaming, “No, no, it cannot be!” then you are free to do so. But this does not change facts.

Scandinavia is a bad example, because the term as defined by historians is loose. I already proved you wrong with an example of Germany. I assume you haven’t read that part, and I await your eventual apology. Here’s another one: China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong share similar gene pools. Latvia and Lithuania comprise a Baltic nation, while Estonians are a Finnish tribe. The languages, culture, and mindset of these people are quite similar. There is no Russo-centricity in these statements. You must check the expiration level on that flawed logic of yours.

You start strange discussions based on governments of different countries. You continue to make points based on arguments that I am not making, even though I have explicitly warned you about this before. Once again, for the mentally challenged: I am not stating that Ukraine, Russia, and Belarus should be unified. I am not objecting to the independence of these countries, I am not comparing freedom and corruption within these states, and I am not making any claims based on their political status as separate entities. I encourage you to use your eyes, in combination with your head to figure this out. I wait impatiently.

Now, all the bases have been thoroughly covered except one – your astounding xenophobia. Let’s watch:

Elmer’s xenophobic comments:
- “stupid rooskie”
- “schizoid rooskie”
- rambling about a billboard with provocative content
- refusing to recognize an entire nation
- using ethnic stereotypes that don’t apply to the person with whom he’s arguing, stating, “there is nobody more xenophobic than roosha. Ask all the oily orthodox skinheads in roosha, ask the Nashi Putin-Hitler youth group.”
- “rosshans care only about misery – their own and that of others”

My own xenophobic comments:
None.

After this, we can only conclude that Elmer is a xenophobe, and simply hope that his hate towards a certain Eastern Slavic country is a temporary phase that will shift and pass as he matures.

I feel we’ve gotten off on the wrong foot based on the staggering difference of our opinions. I am also surprised by your inability to spell or type concrete sentences. Hopefully, you’ll learn how to accomplish these tasks eventually, and this will not affect our future encounters in a negative manner. Coincidentally, did you know that scholars invented a symbol for the word, “period”? It’s “.”

elmer says:

OK, Yushchenko, you are definitely a stupid rooskie.

The way I know that is because you use every stupid rooskie technique that there is.

- you are rude, while pretending to be polite

- you fall back on the old sovok technique - "psychological counseling" as a cure for anyone who disagrees with you

- you fall back on insults

- you have no point.

OK, so some Ukrainians and rooshans like each other.

Let's see what roosha has done -

- cut off oil supplies to Ukraine about 10 times over the past few years

- cut gas supplies to Ukraine, and to the rest of Europe

- engaged in trade wars with Ukraine

- made it more difficult for Ukrainians to get visas

- threatened Ukraine numerous times with gas price increases if the Kremlin's candidates were not elected in Ukraine

- polluted the Kerch strait

- threatened Ukraine with respect to the Black Sea Fleet

- threatened Ukraine if it became a member of NATO

The list goes on.

"stupid rooskie" and "schizoid rooskie" are not xenophobic terms - they are factual terms.

So your point was that some Ukrainians and some rooshans like each other.

And you want to believe that the milk of human kindness flows through your veins.

So what?

Roosha's government is all screwed up, and is not to be trusted.

And roosha's government hasn't given anyone any reason to like it - except, of course, for Putin and the other thugs who profit by it.

Yushchenko says:

Elmer, now we’re making headway – this is good. We’ve determined that people in Ukraine do not fear or hate people in Russia with whom they have irreplaceable ethnic and cultural ties. We also established that neither of us wants Ukraine to give up its independence. We then determined that that the majority of Ukrainians do not support NATO membership, as shown in previous population polls. Therefore NATO membership for Ukraine goes against everything democracy stands for. Thankfully, Timoshenko has since stated that a decision like that will not be done without a referendum, supervised heavily under foreign scrutiny thus ensuring a democratic path.

Now let’s move on. In response to my clear list of your xenophobic statements, you compiled your own list based on hateful stereotypes you associate with my nationality. This is ironic since the action piercingly screams xenophobia. I find it strange that you keep trying to insult my ethnic heritage since I make no effort to corrupt yours, but if you must know my genealogy, let the gods grant you this one wish: My father is German, and my mother is Jewish-Ukrainian. Over the course of my life, I’ve lived in Ukraine, Russia, Germany, and Canada. Now, a strange occurrence has come through: all your ethnic stereotypes are shattered, and fall freely into the chasm of your own ignorance. A revelation that splinters a man’s beliefs can be hard on the psyche. I will grant you several minutes to recover from shock.

Your other list of seemingly “hostile” actions is laughable. Even with the current anti-Russian government, Ukraine still pays far below market price for many Russian commodities. The black sea fleet is signed until 2017. Supporting a candidate who garners the support of a third of Ukraine and who leads the second biggest political party is hardly a crime. I may think Yanukovich is a brain dead idiot, but without him, Ukraine’s is essentially a one party political entity, much like Russia, which you ostracize.

As I said before, democracy shows that Ukrainians do not consider Russians a threat, and do not want to give up their sovereignty to another military bloc. The fact that you think xenophobia is scientifically proven is freighting. I suggest psychiatric help, if you refuse to accept mine. Now when I poke light fun at your inability to comprehend basic facts, you must know I do so with the utmost respect and fidelity, hoping in my heart of hearts that you’ll realize how silly some of your rhetoric is sounding. I state very simple facts about your arguments but I feel like I’m arguing with a bulldozer. Coincidentally, you really must study English – it is virtually essential in a globalized world. Hopefully, you’ve seen by now the error of your ways, and are eager to apologize for your previous comments, to me, and to Eastern Slavic people living in Russia, whom you have been relentlessly and needlessly bashing for the last couple of days.

elmer says:

Yushchenko

On the Internet, noone knows you're a dog.

The path to NATO was started under Kuchma.

Only 20% of Ukrainians want NATO? Show me the surveys.

It is the rooskies, including those inside Ukraine, who scream like pigs, in typical fashion, about NATO.

How do you make sure roosha does NOT come to your party? Invite them.

I forgot to list one of the time-honored sovok techniques which you so seem to love and to employ repeatedly - attacks on spelling and grammar.

Yep, that sure learns everybody, when a sovok starts attacking, and turns political discussion into a spelling bee.

The fact remains that noone trust rooshan government, no matter how much you lie, Yushchenko.

My stereotype of you is not shattered at all.

I can smell you over the Internet - you're not a true Ukrainian, you make sovok noises about "friendship" between slavic peoples, as if that automatically ought to equate to trust of the rooshan government.

The fact that you use Yushchenko's name to spew your lies, even though you try to soft-peddle them, cements the fact that you are not a true Ukrainian.

When roosha cut off gas to Ukraine, it was over the Friendship (Дружба) pipeline.

So much for "friendship" between roosha and Ukraine.

Roosha's "friends" consist of genocidal murderers like Milosevic, and roosha is still extraordinarily pee-o'ed because NATO got the murderer.

Typical sick roosha.

As far as "below-market" prices, name one - for any commodity that anyone would want.

As far as "giving up sovereignty" to NATO, what utter rooskie nonsense - France, Germany and Britain are no longer sovereign nations?

The bottom line is that you are not a true Ukrainian, and you are spewing rooskie-sovok lies using rooskie-sovok classic techniques.

And, in typical rooskie-sovok fashion, you can't shut up, and you repeat the same thing over and over again.

So here's something to keep you going ---

How's my spelling? Duz it bug you enuf?

Yushchenko says:

Elmer, what is truly disturbing about your posts is your acceptance of your xenophobia. So you also hate people of Russian origin in Ukraine? I pity you, old friend. Many thanks for the well placed joke at the expense of a nationality. Are you planning on stirring up some Anti-Semitism for me as well? Read the article I linked earlier for information about independent polls. There are statistics on the internet; my time is a great deal more valuable than yours, so please be kind enough to look for them yourself.

Indeed, a part of a country’s sovereignty is given up every time it joins another organized bloc. I don’t think you grasp the exact guidelines for receiving and maintaining NATO membership, having never bothered to find out. Of course, living in an industrialized G8 country that is a part of this military bloc, my knowledge eclipses yours on the matter. I suggest further research.

I find it gratuitously sidesplitting that you find my name offensive. Pray believe that is not the intention.

Concerning gas prices:

“In a newly renegotiated deal reached on 2 December 2007 it was announced that Ukraine will pay 179.5 U.S. dollars per 1,000 cubic meters in 2008, from 130 dollars in 2007. Gazprom predicted in December 2007 that Germany will probably pay $350 per 1,000 cubic metres in 2008.”

This is just a quick example from the online encyclopedia (WIKI).

Now that we’ve covered the basic facts, there are several other issues to address. It seems you have an unwarranted superiority complex. I find this strange since in all my years living in Kiev, I have never met a mind so vile. You’re right though – as I have stated before, I am only ¼ Ukrainian. I am also of Jewish and mostly German ancestry. However, if you take the time away from your hobby of peddling hateful theories and contemplating genocide, you may notice that I do not lord these genetics over you. By your standards, Germany is culturally, and economically superior to Ukraine, yet I choose not to insult Eastern Slavic people, wherever they live. Instead, I only highlight your own ignorance, knowing full well that it does not reflect Ukrainians in the least.

I truly abhor your English. The fact that you choose to gloat about your inadequacy in the greatest language on the planet only shows your likeness to a child. You stomp, and cry, and do the opposite of what grown men tell you. Eventually you are put in the corner to stare at the walls reflecting your own defectiveness as a human being, and you must squeeze out a tear to prove you have learned. Elmer, I believe it’s been a long time since you stood in a corner.

elmer says:

Yushchenko, it's apparently a lot of fun for you to lie over the Internet.

And it's a lot of fun for you to create straw men and knock them down.

You are not an old friend to me, and you are certainly not a new friend.

You're just a sovok liar.

And you are certainly not a true Ukrainian.

I can still smell you, even over the Internet - and you stink. Big time.

So, let's see - the UN, NATO, EU, WTO, etc. - those are all organizations which leads to "giving up" sovereignty.

That's what roosha says. And apparently you believe what roosha says.

roosha is a member of the UN. So is Ukraine.

But in roosha, human rights espoused by the UN are not honored.

And roosha has clearly implemented a policy of oil politics - it just struck a deal with Serbia in which it tried to take over 51% of Serbia pipeline system. Serbia agreed to 50%.

As far as the corrupt Gazprom and RosUkrEnergo - well, a few of Putin's thugs get rich by participating in intermediary companies, at the expense of Naftohaz in Ukraine, and at the expense of others.

Then, mysteriously, Gazprom-roosha manufactures multi-billion dollar "debts" hypothetically owed by Ukraine, when it does not like the results of elections in Ukraine.

roosha's government is really, really putrid.

How do you make sure roosha does NOT come to your party? Invite them.

In roosha, the people have agreed to be treated like idiots.

Yushchenko says:

Elmer, I see you finally grasped most of the important facts, and began to quarrel and argue unessential garbage. This is good – this is still progress.

Rather strange you continue to spout xenophobia over the internet - this is certainly not a Ukrainian trait. As I have stated before, I am only a quarter Ukrainian, but I was born in Kiev and lived there for quite some time. Indeed, if being a “true” Ukrainian implies following your disgusting plethora of ponderings, then there are at most four or five Ukrainians left in the world. Is there a convention? What is the dress code? I couldn’t care less if you lack the strength of mind to admit your mistakes to others and accept another man’s viewpoint without insulting nationalities. This is not a Ukrainian characteristic – most Eastern Slavic people I have encountered remain relatively open-minded.

Although you seem to crave a connection between the Russian government and I, it saddens me to resolutely crush those dreams. Behind my charming wit and superior use of verbal techniques, spreads the shadow of a Westerner. Coincidentally, I admire your skilful use of a nose – my Doberman used to have that talent as well.

I already proved you wrong – you asked for an example of an economic subsidy, which had nothing to do with this article and I proved generous enough to grant you one. You asked for an example of independent polls, and you received that as well. Now you scheme to turn this conversation into a debate on whether economic actions of a political entity are ethical or not. This I cannot allow and will now participate in at the moment – it is hundreds of miles beyond the topic at hand. If you would like to find out more about economic ethics, I suggest the following literature: “Taking sides: Issues in business ethics and society”. The local bookstore awaits, kind chum.

I thank you once again for the joke revealing your venomous personality. I suggest a career in comedy – perhaps a sitcom? Certainly, your heart refuses to hesitate as it pumps out statements of odium, and I anticipate the eventual turn to Anti-Semitism with a grave mind.

elmer says:

You haven't proved anything other than you stink and you are a liar.

rooshans are nasty, nasty people when it comes to politics and government, and you are no exception.

The forums are full of venomous posts from rooshans. When the Orange Revolution first began in Ukraine, all you had from rooshans was "мля, бля і порнографія."

And one of the tricks that rooskies used was to start screaming about anti-semitism, when there was none, hoping to get the US and others riled up against Ukraine.

By the way, sovok, it's not "between the rooshan govt and I, "it's between the rooshan government and ME".

You pretending not to be connected with pro-rooshan government lies is - a lie.

And it's obvious that your Doberman, if you really had one, was much smarter than you.

You are a sovok rooskie - the clincher is that you can't stand not to have the last word. Otherwise, you'll explode.

So go ahead, rooskie sovok liar, I'll let you have the last word, so you don't explode.

Yushchenko says:

Elmer, your intelligence is deteriorating at breakneck speed. I couldn’t care less about your sullied, underhanded opinions, but I’d like to think I’ve made a difference today. I’ve proved you wrong, and your last post, driven by erratic, blood-spewing bursts of anger, surely in their violent last throws, contained no information or attempt at redemption – just a dying ideology’s last scream.

You cannot name one thing I lied about it. Curious how accusations are thrown but facts are not conveyed. Another mind boggling revelation – you accuse me of employing “Russian” techniques, supporting putrid rhetoric with empty stereotypes. I believe your mind has warped to such an extent that all negative emotions are associated with a political entity. This of course is psychopathic. Hatred of a nation of Eastern Slavs is no different than Anti-Semitism. A civilized Westerner like me, who you apparently aspire to be, is offended by both.

Perhaps poetic linguistics is something you’ll never understand, having the comprehension skills of fast food janitor. Perhaps you’ll never better yourself into a worthwhile human being. However, like a Good Samaritan, I have done all I can to cleanse you of the poisonous venom that clouds your mind. I have shown you, point by point the error of this article and the error of xenophobic judgment. I have systematically dissected every inch of your argument and exposed you for what you are. And although the punishment dealt to you may seem cruel this winter morn as you stare at the monitor, fists clenched and nostrils flared, take solace in knowing that it will ultimately force you to grow into a mature, rational adult.
