It was orbiting 130 miles above the Earth and traveling at 17,000 miles per hour.
It had no heat trail to track, cold as ice.
Such a thing had never, ever been done before.
But with one shot from the Lake Erie, an Aegis-class cruiser (yes, that's right, a ship floating on the rolling waves), it was toast.
By the way, did you know that America won more Nobel prizes last year than all other countries in the world . . . combined?
Perhaps rumors of our demise are somewhat exaggerated?
