NATO 2, Russia 0

_44478467_kos_ap203b.jpgVladimir Putin's Russia has suffered another devastating defeat in the former Yugoslavia. First Kosovo managed to successfully declare its independence despite Russian opposition, and now the pro-Russia government of Serbia itself has collapsed. The BBC reports:

Serbia's Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica [pictured] has said his coalition has collapsed and is calling for elections. The move follows his failure to get his cabinet to reject closer ties with the European Union in the wake of Kosovo's declaration of independence. Mr Kostunica, a nationalist, has described the decision by EU states to recognise Kosovo as illegal. "The government of Serbia has no united policy any more on an important issue related to the future of the country - Kosovo as a part of Serbia," Mr Kostunica told reporters as he announced his move in Belgrade.

The more pro-EU president of Serbia, Boris Tadic, will now call new elections.

YEAH! says:

STOP THE PRESSES! STOP THE PRESSES! OH MY GOD WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THIS IS POSSIBLE?

PUTIN, YOU ARE DOOMED YOU BAD MAN YOUR ALLY JUST...called elections.

Actually, come to think of it, it's not very exciting at all.

Vova says:

"Mr Kostunica, a nationalist, has described the decision by EU states to recognise Kosovo as illegal"
Well, turning Servia against EuSSR is good news. As Bukovskiy has pointed out on several occasions, the roosky pigs played up the Common Market as a new tool of influence in Europe long before the West knew that the Soviet Union was heading into an abyss. Current EuSSR is an unelected body of socialist spineless wimps who are hostile to America and bend under Kremlin and Lubyanka even beforee any pressure is applied. And of course Eurabia's preemptive surrender to Islamofascism strikes a chord in B. Hussein Obama's heart.

Aris Katsaris says:

Vova again displays his/her utter inability to display coherence or common sense. His/her argument resorts to namecalling -- in a single paragraph we've had "EuSSR" "rooosky pigs" "spineless wimps" and "Eurabia. Is that a new record at kindergarten namecalling?

As for Kostunica's government, it didn't collapse, he dismissed it in order to have a more pure pro-Russia government at hand. Don't fool yourself into thinking Russia doesn't hold the reins of Serbia. I know you love to tally up supposed defeats of Russia, but this isn't one of them.

Vova says:

Aris,

"As for Kostunica's government, it didn't collapse, he dismissed it"

We call it a distinction without the difference

Aris Katsaris says:

"We call it a distinction without the difference"

In this case it's the difference of whether it was the pro-Russian or the pro-European elements that desired this dismissal, and which elements will get stronger as a result of it.

But I guess all that's too subtle a difference for you. Who cares what will come to replace them, right? As long as we can tally up fictional victories, who cares about reality. You're faith-based instead.

La Russophobe says:

ARIS:

Name calling, huh? Interesting. Would you also accuse Malcom X or Martin Luther King of "name calling" if they referred to the KKK as racist? If we were discussing Nazi Germany in 1939 and I used several choice epithets in regard to their behavior in Auschwitz, would you accuse me of "name calling" too?

If not, then perhaps your remark is explained by the fact that you simply couldn't care less what happens to the people of Russia and therefore can't understand why anyone could be passionate about their fate, and moreover are too mindbendingly stupid to realize the threat they pose to America (or so full of malignant hatred for America that you desire its downfall)?

Your attempt to stand as the heroic White Knight defending the honor of poor innocent little Russians is breathtakingly courageous. I'm truly humbled by it, heaven knows where Russians would be without the likes of you.

La Russophobe says:

PUBERTY:

You are truly demented in a fully neo-Soviet manner. I can delete all of your "comments" anytime I want, but I don't. Didn't it ever occur to you to wonder why? Didn't you think for even a second that maybe I LIKE or even LOVE your comments, because they do a far better job than I ever could of humiliating, degrading and delegitimizing the positions you espouse?

Censor you? I beg you to comment much more often and at greater length! I'd be wiling to pay you for doing what you happily do for free! Vaya con dios my little comrade!

Ray says:

RUSSIA CHECKMATES NATO
Did you read the news? NATO won't admit Georgia and Ukraine because they're "afraid of antagonizing Russia."
Oops! I guess poor NATO have nothing to cheer about except something as measly as Serbs dissolving their parliament for new elections, because NATO just got pimp-slapped! Sorry, honey.

Vova says:

Ray,
You are absolutely correct. NATO is a bunch of eurowimps, it's not a military alliance, it is a quasi-political alliance. Our services--army, navy, air force, marines-- are a military alliance. This is why we went to Iraq by ouselves--who wants to depend on a bunch of wimped-out socialist pussy-whipped long-haired fags in costumes?

Vova says:

Kim,
I am glad you didn't censor Aris and Puberty. You don't want to censor Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton--every time any one of them opens his mouth he embarrasses himself a lot more than any opponent could.
I have fun reading demented comments by these aggrieved self-centered overbearing insufferable boorish russophiles

La Russophobe says:

RAY:

Please stop engaging in quackery on this blog. If you'd like to refer to a news story, post the link.

Moreover, this post has nothing whatsoever to do with Ukraine or Georgia. Why are you attempting to change the subject?

In case you're not aware of it, both Ukraine and Georgia have recently undergone elections which spit in Russia's eye and gave power to hardcore anti-Russia, pro-West leaders. If you consider that "victory" for Russia just because NATO admission has not been formalized, you have mighty low standards (quite appropriate for Russia, actually).

Aris Katsaris says:

Kim, you obviously don't see the words "pigs" "Eurabia" or for that matter "wimped-out socialist pussy-whipped long-haired fags" as mindless namecalling, you see them all as serious accusations worthy of rebuttal and/or discussione.

You and Vova had my contempt already but now you've really fallen below even that contempt, straight into self-parody. Honestly I think I'm only coming back only to see how much more fools you'll prove yourselves now.

Aris Katsaris says:

And the ludicrousness of calling me a *russophile*? Why, because I don't believe this was a defeat on Russia's part?

Once again Vova seems to confuse desire and reality.

And I don't even begin to understand what Kim is talking about when she accuses me of "defending the honor of poor innocent little Russians"

When the hell did I ever defend Russians? What comment is she referring to? Is Kim downright delusional now?

vova says:

Puberty,
What's ESL? Is being ESL-3 good or bad? Please enlighten us.

here you go says:

Vova,

ESL stands for: English as a Second Language. ESL courses are for non-native English speakers and the term 'ESL' is frequently used in mocking people who either speak or write English poorly.
The specific level of ESL isn't important; if a native speaker ever uses "ESL" in reference to your language abilities, it's derogatory.
For example: "Vova writes so incoherently that I think he needs to take another ESL course" or "Kim's prose is so butchered that I bet she failed ESL!" or "It's quite clear Elmer never even tried ESL"

vova says:

Got it. Never took the course because I never went to college and thus was not requited to.

yeah! says:

vova, i'm glad you admit to being ill educated and stupid. nice fans you got, kim!
