Life in UK is unbearable for some

England is Vanishing says Cal Thomas.

"Between June 2005 and June 2006 nearly 200,000 British citizens chose to leave the country for a new life elsewhere. During the same period, at least 574,000 immigrants came to Britain. This number does not include the people who broke the law to get there, or the thousands unknown to the government."

Why the exodus?

"They fear lawlessness and the threat of more terrorism from a growing Muslim population and the loss of a sense of Britishness, exacerbated by the growing refusal of public schools to teach the history and culture of the nation to the next generation. What it means to be British has been watered down in a plague of political correctness that has swept the country faster than hoof-and-mouth disease. Officials say they do not wish to "offend" others."

La Russophobe says:

That's very ironic! They fear losing their Britishness and by leaving they are both making Britain even less British and entering a wide world which is not British at all!

This goes very nicely with the post about the Opus cartoon. Kismet!

Manuela says:

I'm not surprised Europeans would rather give up and leave instead of confronting the radical Muslims. In the end we'll run out of places to hide...

armchair pessimist says:

The joke on us all would be if the only ones in Europe willing to stand and fight for were....your favorite people, the Russians. We all must stay tuned.

Manuela says:

armchair pessimist: I don't particularly like or dislike the Russians. As for Russians standing up to the Muslims. I don't think that will happen. With one exception, if Russia gets attacked by Islamists. Then yes, it will respond

La Russophobe says:

ARMCHAIR:

I'd carry your logic further, and point out that the joke would be on YOU if it turns out that those "fighting Russians" curing the Islamic problem are worse than the disease they are attacking (after all, the Islamacists don't have ICBMS).

Moreover, I'd point out that Russia's record fighting wars isn't really very impressive.

RTLM says:

So where are the Brits going?

Brits are welcome in the United States on the condition they leave their self-loathing, multi-culture group think where they came from.

Otherwise stay out of the U.S.

Manuela says:

RTLM: Spain and the US are among the chosen countries.

Yes, I'm with RTML, except that I think that attitude is probably exactly what they are bringing with them.

I was doing an orientation here last week in Austin with a new arrival from England. She related just how much she loves Austin and how different it was from Pittsburg, where she just moved from. I said, "Oh, is it the warm weather here and no snow?" "Oh no," she said, "It's no conservatives! They were everywhere in Pittsburg and I hated it." Sigh. I quietly told her that, though Austin is the one truly liberal place in Texas, it is certainly not safe to assume that everyone you talk to is liberal. "Some of us are conservative and like it that way." That shut her up for most of the rest of the orientation.

Anyway, we're in for it if all English transplants are like her.

inmypajamas says:

Oops! Sorry for the double post. My connection went down after I sent the first one and I thought it was lost in the ether.

Manuela says:

inmypajamas: Thanks for sharing your experience. Of course not all Brits that decide to leave the home country do so because of the Muslims. But that too is a factor.
