I had a look at the marvels of Cuba’s health care system for Daniel’s blog.

I learned Cubans are disgusted their doctors have been shipped out to Venezuela, leaving them with almost no medical care. Venezuelans, meanwhile, are disgusted their own doctors have been put out of work because of the cheap new Cuban labor. Adding insult to injury, the Cuban doctors double as spies on them after putting in three-hour days in three-hour workweeks. This sounds like communist planning all right. All told, a miserable failure.

Interestingly, Mary Anastasia O’Grady of the WSJ had the same thing on her mind, looking at the cheap Cuban doctor labor rolling in on the Honduran end. She thinks it’s got negative consequences for America, too, this Castro Missionary Medical Corps. It’s Fidel Castro’s instrument for his own self-aggrandizement.

A travesty.
