Miguel at MABB on Bolivia has a very significant item utterly ignored in the U.S. media about how Bolivia’s protestors are being coerced. They are being shaken down by Marxist social movements like Evo Morales’ ally FEJUVE, which sends block committees into neighborhoods of El Alto, checking to see that at least one member of the household is out there protesting for Morales’ suicidal nationalization causes.
I knew those Indians weren’t doing this on their own! There were too many of them at the pro-Mesa protests in March.
They are being forced to protest! Or else. The Morales crew puts a big cross on the door of any dissidents and informs the sheriff that the residents’ possessions are there for the taking. Or else they ‘fine’ the destitute people. Not only that, there is a long list of terrible ways these thugs uses food as a weapon on these poor people. Read this and cringe:
Mario also says that Abel Mamani, president of FEJUVE, has forbidden the supply of fuel and food to anybody. That means no gas to cook and no, well, food. People are slowly running out of supplies. Moreover, ther are renewed threats to cut the supply of electricity and drinking water. Mamani has said that the decision to starve the people of El Alto was taken in consensus with the leaders of the local neighborhood federations.
This is coercion. This is terror. This is evil. For this reason, nothing Evo Morales does should be taken as representative of freely expressed will of the people. Miguel calls it ‘dictatorship.’ Read it here.
Besides this, Washington Times has a disturbing editorial on why Evo Morales must be taking cash from Hugo Chavez.
There are bad things going on in our hemisphere.
