BOSTON 2005 FREEDOM MARCH!

There will be a large demonstration in Boston tomorrow in support of the more than 20 million slaves left in the world. It is hosted by iAbolish, an organization bringing together the modern-day abolitionist movement. This is a really good cause to get involved with. I’m posting all the relevant information below. If you want more, just click here!

I know I’ll be there!

We invite you to attend the 2005 FREEDOM MARCH on Sunday, November 6th in Boston, MA from noon until 2:00 PM . The march offers a unique opportunity for fellow abolitionists to come together in person and demonstrate their support for the anti-slavery movement. Participants will assemble at the Rotunda on Boston Common and march through Beacon Hill, passing historic landmarks of the country’s original abolitionist movement nearly 200 years ago.

This event is part of the 30,000 Chances campaign????????an ongoing effort to raise $111,000 for AASG by January 1st. Such resources will go toward the launch of the NEW iAbolish, which will feature a completely redesigned website, new additions to our “Bearing Witness” speakers’ program, the publication of a book of survivor stories and more targeted advocacy campaigns. Most of these projects are already under way????????for example, Haitian slavery survivor Micheline Slattery has already joined our speakers’ program????????but it’s your support that will let us see them through to their completion.

We are asking that each participant raise a minimum of $25 in sponsorship before the day of the event. For your convenience, we have provided sponsorship sheets and online donation forms below. We encourage you to print out and distribute the attached flyer in your local area.

The iAbolish team hopes that you will join us and others in support of the cause, helping to offer a unified voice and to reach our goal of $111,000.
