REPRESSION CONTINUES IN CUBA, AND SO DOES RESISTANCE!

As many of you maybe know, Castro’s regime increased his war on the Cuban people.By speaking with many Cuban freedom fighters in Cuba, I notice that there’s an awareness about the upcoming end of the 47-year long communist dictatorship in the Antilles.

Friends who have been continously harassed by Castroite mobs tell me that Castro is well aware that his days are numbered and that he can no longer control his people’s aspirations. Opposition movements are increasing day by day and the more repression is used against dissidents, the more people join the opposition and the more determined they’re.

On January 28, Noelia Pedraza Jimenez was harassed by a castroite mob in Santa Clara, which had attempted to beat her up, but her brother rescued her. However, her house is continuously monitored and nobody is allowed to go visit her.
In order to protest against this brutality, as well as to support Guillermo Farinas Hernandez , who is on his 7th day of hunger and thirst strike, Noelia also started a hunger strike “until the last consequences”. Idania Yanes Contreras of the Femenine Movement “Martha Abreu” tells more at Radio Mart????, from Santa Clara.

The Bureau of the Independent Press of the Informative Bridge Cuba-Miami expresses support for Guillermo Fari????as Hern????ndez . Carlos Serpa Maceira reads the statement from Havana.

On February 4, a mob tried to prevent members of the dissident Love, Peace and Freedom Party from holding their usual meeting in Col????n, province of Matanzas. The regime had to force workers to participate in such fascist attack, as nobody in the neighborhood agreed to do so.
The mob shouted insults such as “dogs”, “gusanos”, “locos” , among the others. Despite the act lasted 3 hours, the meeting was held and when it was over, the 14 freedom fighters marched from the house to other dissidents’ . Juan Bueno Artola, who was attending the meeting that day, reports .
The Movement’s female members launched a project of cooperation with the Venezuelan opposition. Serpa Maceira has more.

In Holguin, a member of the Human Rights Movement “Claridad” was beaten up while walking in a street. Things could have been worse, but a group of brave citizens rescued him and said they know that the attacker is from the State Security. Liannis Meri????o Aguilera has details.

Other more ‘repudiation acts’ took place last week, and in each of them, nobody of the neighbors participated and above all, the only result of such attacks has been an increase in opposition activities.
