Bubba and Junior, some of the oilmen down in Lou’siana, are getting a little disgusted about a certain Senor Chavez of Venezuela, and it might just be about to affect bidness.

Seems one of Citgo’s top suppliers, Evans Oil, is preparing to dump Venezuela as a supplier and move on to other sources of petroleum. Venezuela’s cheap and Venezuela’s convenient, but that’s getting to be secondary, given one little problem:

The oilmen are right peaceable people and don’t care much for Hugo Chavez’s raving anti-U.S. lunatic rhetoric these days. They know how their customers feel about these things and are fearful of a consumer boycott, which has already been called. Citgo claims there isn’t any effective boycott but they’ve ceased being transparent, so you can’t believe a thing they say. A reporter in this item right here says he asked six customers down at the Citgo station if they were boycotting, but he didn’t seem to realize that if those Bubbas were out pumping, they sure as sheet weren’t boycotting. What they didn’t ask was the people who weren’t buying Citgo. Somehow, there was no bid to find them. (You ‘n’ I can find them on Free Republic, what the hey.)

What does this mean? It means Hugo Chavez is growing increasingly unattractive as a business partner. It means he’s bad for business up here and America’s willingness to support such a dictator, through the purchase of his petroleum, is limited. Oil sales to America are what’s propping up this hideous dictator, for his Marxist ideas were discredited way back in 1989-1990 with the fall of the Berlin Wall. He calls it socialism, and in fact what he wants is communism, but all he has, and all he can offer to anyone, as he seeks to consolidate power and turn Venezuela into a Castroite dictatorship, are oil earnings.

That might just stop. There are changes going on in the states and those changes might just be to Venezuela’s democrats’ advantage and Hugo Chavez’s bitter end.
