Glenn at Instapundit has gotten some amazing information about France that you don’t see in the mainstream media, along with a couple incredible pictures.
There’s a vast youth counterprotest full of beautiful young people who are standing up against the bandana-swathed firebomb-hurling losers who would burn the city down, all for the right to not have to work hard in their early years of employment.
That’s right, sensible heads have prevailed, the protest babes are out, and the revolutionary spirit of Frederic Bastiat is resurrected. That means thousands of industrious French young people have taken to the streets to SUPPORT the CPE (that is the new labor law proposal that permits two-year probationary employment for young workers) just to get the right to work at real jobs at all and show what they can do. They are France’s future, and they clearly are showing they also are France’s best hope.
With youth employment at 10% among the ethnic French, and 40% or so among the Arabs and Africans, way too many of these young people currently don’t have the right to work at all.
That’s why this new wave of French people have taken to the streets to … amazingly … support the government, which however weakly, is trying to reform the stacked-against-the-youth system. It’s a promising and unexpected development.
I am too tired to blog at length on this but this is a great development. I will do more research and linkages tomorrow.
Meantime, Glenn’s post and photos (check out the babes in the second photo) on France’s Real Revolutionaries is an absolute must-see. Read it here
