ITALIAN ELECTION MEANS A LOT

The Italian general election will be held from tomorrow to Monday afternoon, when the polls will close and – later in the night – results (some say partial ) will be announced.

This is a very important election which will mean a lot for the future of international alliance: a Berlusconi’s win would guarantee continuity with the strong U.S.-Italy alliance above all in the face of the war on terror. A Prodi’s win would mean a re-alignment of Italy with the Old Europe, with Spain and France as their worst representatives.

And that means – in case Prodi is elected – the immediate pullout of the Italian troops out of Iraq, making terrorists (some of which have made clear they want him to win) happy and ready to treat Italy as a dhimmi.

I’m terrified by this scenario. That’s why, although I – as a free-marketing reformist and ‘extreme’ pro-American – am very disappointed by Berlusconi’s performance, I will be going at the polls tomorrow morning, in order to vote for what I see as the only alternative to my country’s political and moral decline: Berlusconi’s center-right.

Please, keep an eye on Pajamas Media, where my election posts will be published. I’ll be posting here, too !
