For the 45,873th time, communism has failed.
Forced confiscations of once-productive farms have left Zimbabwe a hollowed out shell of itself, its people hungry and starving, its government without revenue, and its infrastructure a smoking ruin.
How many times do people need to learn this? Is there ever such a thing as learning from others or the past? Does everyone on earth need to learn everything the hard way individually? How anyone could support communism after this is beyond stupid. It can only be evil.
Hugo Chavez of course has yet to learn.
Anyway, Zimbabwe’s government has “invited” farmers of any race back to “apply” to work their own land now that Robert Mugabe’s cronies have laid waste to the once productive farms. They must promise to “work” the land, as if they hadn’t been doing that in the first place. Productive farms, Mugabe has yet to learn, don’t get productive on their own.
It doesn’t sound like Mugabe expects to pay any sort of price for this, so my forecast is that there will be few takers. No one wants to work by the sweat of their brow and invest their lives in a place that has robbed them in the past. No one will believe any of this monster’s guarantees, because the surest way to know that someone will take your land is past experience. Mugabe needs to be in jail for all this, but now he’s seeking more punching bags.
