In the last two days the Romanian media published information????????s about the children network of the Securitate (Communist Intelligence). Till now, there have been rumors of it, but now it has been proved. Securitate adopted STASI????????s tactics and recruited children as young as 12!! Those children had to inform Securitate about the discussions of their parents, relatives, and teachers — whether they listen to Free Europe radio, or if they say jokes with political connotations, etc.

They had to sign an assignment of support for Securitate promising to “prevent, reach and sack crimes against state security” and “fight any manifestations harming the interests of our Socialist order”.

The Civic Media Association and Ziua daily asked the Parliament, and the current intelligence services to help detect the cases of children recruited by Securitate, to renounce at the employees who have been engaged in such activities (the media knows about one such person, an officer who had a children network of almost 200, and who after the 1989 Revolution got promoted in the Romanian Intelligence Service ???????? SRI) and to ban this terrible practice.
