CASTRO DEATH WATCH

Miami Cubans celebrate the coming demise of a brutal dictator
Source: Rick at Stuck on the Palmetto blog

As the hemisphere’s worst-ever dictator slides into death’s embrace, the mainstream media sweetly qualifies the Monster of Havana, one of the century’s worst tyrants, as a ‘maverick’ and other crap, Val at Babalu blog is providing some of the best real-time coverage and insightful commentary I’ve ever seen on a blog – EVER.

EVER.

I am too busy at work over these very events to be able to blog much and in any case I would not be able to top the brilliant Val but click here and keep scrolling (go way far down to the July 31st posts, it’s really extraordinary) for real-time, nonpareil coverage of the bearded beast’s demise and Cuba’s first authentic window onto freedom in 47 years.

Not only are these events historic, so is Val’s coverage. Today’s must-read is here.

And don’t miss Fausta‘s excellent comprehensive coverage and videos, either. It’s another must-read here.

Dammit, I have a deadline, I’ve got the headphones on listening to Dead Man’s Party by Oingo Boingo, to get me in the mood, but this piece by the estimable Steve at Hog on Ice cannot be beat. It just feels good to read it. The guy rocks.

The Times reports that the bearded beast probably did himself in by heavy drinking. I believe it. A drunken tyrant.

And don’t miss our own Stefania’s excellent string of photos and other links and coverage at Free Thoughts here. Feel the mood in Miami! Compare and contrast to the horror of Havana and the muted response from Cuba’s enslaved people, too afraid to celebrate just yet. It’s really good.

I got work to do and can’t blog! But don’t miss Jim Hoft at GatewayPundit‘s really first-rate photo show and analysis here.
