Courtesy of Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez, Sandalistas can now select five-star accomodations if they find themselves tiring of all the gunfire, fireworks and 6:00 a.m. blasted regatton that so livens up shantytown life. After all, there’s something for everyone in the world of Chavistadom!
This new news item, which I have only a fragment of from EFE, only goes to show that Chavez is not even trying to pretend anymore that’s he’s down there with the people. He and his sandalista pals on tour from Chicago and New York and Los Angeles and Paris and London have gone upscale. They’re movin’ on up. Ain’t champagne-communism the coolest? I guess the down-in-the-dirt slumming wasn’t really profitable and didn’t even make Cuban-doctor standards, so like any would-be tropical Donald Trump, Hugo Chavez has had to upgrade his offerings.
EFE has the story, largely here:
Chavez boosts five-star “revolutionary tourism”
Caracas, Oct 5 (EFE).- Firebrand Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez boosted here Thursday attractions of “revolutionary tourism” in his South American nation, at the same time taking care to reassure rich clients of luxury resorts that their continued patronage also is desired.
The International Tourism Fair, known here as Fitcar, kicked off on Thursday with the Venezuelan leader expressing his desire to offer new proposals to advance “21st century socialism” in the sector.
If I get any more of this very rich material, I’ll be back after station identification…
