An Avalancha. You don’t even need to speak Spanish to know what it means.

Too busy to write anything but the Avalancha presidential election rally in Venezuela over the weekend has yielded some unbelievable photos. Manuel Rosales of Venezuela is mounting a ferocious challenge to brutal leftist dictator Hugo Chavez in the December elections and this past weekend, hundreds of thousands of battered Venezuelans rallied in a dramatic show of force. They covered Caracas. I’ve never seen so many people in once place at once! These honorable democratic revolutionaries are doing it to end a nasty brutal dictatorship and to turn Venezuela once again into a democracy. As Rosales has said: “The choice is between me or communism.” The size of this crowd has got to send shivers through the dictatorial mind of America-hating, devil-obsessed Hugo Chavez. While Americans are boycotting Citgo, and Latin Americans are electing rightwingers (Lula lost the presidential debate last night to a center-right guy), these Venezuelans are real people in Chavez’s own home territory, rallying to resist communism. This puts them in the same league as Hungary’s and Poland’s and Romania’s and Russia’s and Czechoslovakia’s honorable freedom fighters.
Democracy’s beacon out on the horizon is getting a little bigger and brighter. It’s coming…
The photos are incredible. You gotta check them out.
First, go to Miguel’s site here.
Next, go to Alek’s site and keep scrolling, click each story from Saturday because there are tons and tons of photos in each, go here and just keep scrolling.
Then go to Daniel’s site, he has more photos and a very well done expert analysis here. And be SURE to check out photos of Chavez’s own pathetic counter-rally, it’s really miserable and wretched. Not even the chavistas seem to like the dictator. Read Daniel’s analysis of that here.
Go to Francisco’s site for some all-telling perspective on just what the popular sentiment is on Hugo Chavez and his dictatorship-of-one “revolution” here.
Check out what Jim at GatewayPundit has, he’s got photos of how that Rosales rally actually spread all the way to Miami, with only the Caribbean between them! A must-see here.
And don’t miss Fausta’s site for a terrific, detailed and interesting roundup, it can be seen here.
UPDATE: Just saw this on GatewayPundit: The witty Lorie Byrd weighs in on Chavez in this terrific Wizbang post here.
