Half a million people marched against Hugo Chavez in a campaign rally for rapidly rising challenger Manuel Rosales in Caracas on Saturday
Alek Boyd of VCrisis, who was obviously at the gigantic 15-mile rally, has taken some spectacular photos of the gargantuan march against Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez, who vows to Cubanize the country and force anyone with brain in Venezuela to flee to Miami. His 28 or so photos are bigger and more vivid than the TV screen-grabs I posted yesterday. Go see them all here.
Daniel Duquenal at Venezuela News & Views has a fascinating discussion of which photos interest him (I picked the one I posted above because it made me feel like I was really in Caracas.) Daniel notes that the media is fond of printing truisms claiming only ”rich and middle-class whites” oppose Hugo Chavez. Daniel points out that the dark complexions of the participants in the anti-Chavez avalancha yesterday seriously belie that chavista claim – Daniel shows that the half million people marching all have dark skin! Go take a look! And read Daniel’s fascinating analysis here.
