Blogging the democratic revolution
Val Prieto, who writes the more-than-excellent Babalu Blog, outlines an old story for Cuban-Americans – the blindness of those who will not see Castro’s atrocious tyranny. Miami Cubans, more so than many exiles on the freedom fighting frontier, run into these dictator-worshipping jackasses all the time. Val’s exchange with one of them is worth reading…
Val at Babalu Blog has gotten his hands on an important 15-minute Cuban film that’s spreading like lightning around Castro’s oppressed island. It’s all about local KGB goons. He’s painstakingly uploaded it to his blog and from my machine it works perfectly. However, he’s only going to have it up for two days, so it’s…
Val at Babalublog has some fine examples of letters to editors in Minnesota, giving the facts of life in Cuba in response to the naive Sandalistas who write editorials about the pleasures of being a cossetted political tourist in Castro’s island hellhole.

And it looks like the people at Beautiful Horizons also do a Latin America roundup!
Here’s a big shoutout to Babalu Blog, who just got a big mention on the front page of the Miami Herald. Congratulations! The more people who knows about your cause, the better.
Thank you brave Vaclav Havel! Christian Science Monitor has a story worth reading, it shows just how much tyrannical Castro has cost Cuba in lost growth over these years. They do a superb job.
That would be the EU, easily and cheaply allowing itself to be bought off by Castro’s thugs, who, in exchange for a few political prisoners, now have full diplomatic relations with the EU. Castro’s now free to beat about the country now. Val at Babalu tells you all you need to know….
Mora has a great article over at Babalu Blog. It’s about how while most all countries have the internet, that luxury does not exist in Cuba, so it’s almost impossible to communicate to the inside. Also, very interestingly, she has found a publishing house that produces the works of Cuban writers who would otherwise not…
We are having an ongoing discussion over at Babalu Blog over whether we should continue current policy on Cuba, or lift restrictions on it. The premises being which will more quickly bring prosperity, freedom, and democracy to the Cuban people.
