I am back from Boston. I’ve never actually been to New England, go figure, but I really liked the city. My posting will resume as normal starting Monday afternoon. Daniel and A.M. Mora y Leon have been doing a fantastic job with their posts while I was gone and deserve a big hand for their hard work!

I put up a little contact form at the left side of the site. You can still contact me by email, though. Mainly what I’d like you to use it for is sending me tip-offs to news or blog entries that are relevant. This way I could definitely get to everything in a day. Strangely enough, most of my time goes to looking for the news than it does actually writing about it.

Ben Morgan from Swarthmore College’s War News Radio program contacted me via email and is going to do a phone interview in about an hour. It sounds like a load of fun, I’ve never done that before. It’s only for two days, so don’t worry too much about it. I have a lot of work to do in my school life. We’re performing a mock trial on Saturday and I need to be prepared for it. I also have a lot of essays to write as the quarter comes to a close. Sunday, though, is the date set for the Kyrgyx and Tajik parliamentary elections. That will be my pet issue for the entire day. Monday, the no-confidence vote goes to the Lebanese parliament, a day I have been hedging bets will be a big day for…

I’m upgrading WordPress, so temporarily there should be some problems, like the website not working. Should be working soon though. UPDATE: IT WORKED! Maybe soon now I can do a redesign of the website. Very cool. DONE: Alright, this is what I’ve come up with so far. Feel free to make suggestions! As for me, I’m going to go black out now.

It’s sad, because I think a paper on the costs of sustaining unemployment offices vs. the benefits they retrieve is an interesting subject, and one that deserves much more time than I have to dedicate. But back on subject. I just started using RSS feeds, and… they are so cool that I got excited about it. Where did I leave my dunce cap?

I will be doing my daily updates a bit later tonight. I had quite a few exams today, a research paper to write, and my interview with Harvard (that went extremely well). I’ll take a nap, and in a couple of hours, get on it. In the meantime, you can donate to my, er, college fund.

I forgot that my big research paper for the year is due on Monday. Oops. If anyone knows about how the Office of Unemployment in Florida (or anywhere else) works, let me know. Specifically if it saves the government more money than it puts into preventing fraudulent unemployment claims.

Remember when we were mocking the French (well, it’s not like we ever stopped…) and we renamed french fries to “freedom fries” and french kissing to “freedom kissing?” I was just reading and found out that during World War One, sauerkraut was renamed to “liberty cabbage” and hamburger was renamed to “liberty steak.” It looks like we have a history of doing these things!

Discoshaman posted regarding keeping his bias out of his Ukraine commentary. This was interesting to me, because I had been pondering a similar question earlier. Should I really be taking news out of countries where I have little expertise, and making analyses of what is happening there? Hmm. Definitely not.
